The mission of the EQHR Center is to increase the effectiveness of leaders within faith-based communities through experiential development of emotional intelligence (EQ) competencies and human relations (HR) skills.

The Story Behind Our Logo

The Labyrinth

The labyrinth is a symbol of wholeness, a purposeful path.  Persons enter the labyrinth with an intention, in the expectation that they will emerge with the solution.  So too, participants in our EQHR programs enter in the expectation that they will emerge with increased emotional intelligence. 

This requires that they purposefully meander the four quadrants—self- awareness, self-management, social-awareness and relationship management—reaching the center, then heading back to the "real world" to practice their newly developed competencies.
